About

Steve Claridge is a software engineer living and working near Oxford, UK. He has been building desktop and webapps for what seems like an enternity but is in reality more like 14 years. His jobs over the years have included building DOS apps in Turbo Pascal 6, Windows apps in Delphi and Java, command line tools and COM stuff in C++ and web apps in Java, PHP and Python.

Software engineering is a subject close to his heart and it tears him apart that so many companies get it so wrong. He has worked in numerous cowboy-coding shops, some very heavy waterfall method processes and some kinda-agile outfits. All in all, it’s been quite an experience so far.

He lives with his wife, his daughter and their dog.

He also blogs about his hearing loss and his hearing aids. He is right now wondering if Google wil notice that this blog is on the same host as the hearing aids one and penalise that link as spam? He never refers to himself in the third person.
